  • The initial session focuses on establishing rapport, gathering background information, and setting goals for therapy. Some clients may find it difficult to identify what’s troubling them or to clearly define their therapy goals. It’s the therapist’s role to guide you through this process, helping you gain clarity and set meaningful objectives. Clients can rely on the therapist's support and expertise in shaping these goals.

  • Each session lasts 50 minutes unless alternative arrangements have been made ahead of time. Clients should plan to spend about an hour in the office to allow time for payment and scheduling future appointments.

Initially, clients typically meet on a weekly basis, especially if their concerns are pressing or distressing. Over time, sessions may shift to biweekly, and eventually monthly, as progress is made and the need for therapy decreases

  • Benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person sessions provide a physical space dedicated to your healing, free from everyday distractions. Many clients find comfort in face-to-face interaction and appreciate the therapeutic atmosphere of a private, welcoming office located in Jackson.

What are the advantages of Zoom therapy?
Zoom sessions offer flexibility and convenience, allowing you to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own space. This can be especially beneficial for clients with busy schedules, those living far away, or individuals who feel more comfortable opening up in their home environment.

“Research shows that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns. The key is building a strong therapeutic relationship, which can happen in both settings.”

  • Therapy and conversations with friends serve different purposes and have unique impacts. While friends provide emotional support and shared experiences, therapists are trained professionals who offer evidence-based interventions to address mental health challenges. Recent studies highlight that therapy involves a structured approach, including assessment, goal-setting, and specialized techniques tailored to the individual's needs, fostering sustainable behavioral and emotional change.
